Hood does not open

    I would like to open the hood. I pulled the lever and heard the expected release. The hood did not budge. I tried pressing on it. What is the procedure to open the hood, given that I have already pulled the hood-lever?

    And now if you touch the hood release lever there's nothing but play so mechanical are undone ? Rust belt car ? Damaged front end as in noticable ?

    If the cable didn't brake, it's likely the latch is stuck.
    Sometimes "popping" the hood with the side of your fist it might pop it loose.

    Sometimes pulling up on it a little then popping it will release it. It could also be a little
    out of alignment and it's snagging.

    After you get it open, use some spray grease on all the moving parts and around the hook on the hood.
