My last car was a 2002 Acura RSX, which unfortunately was totaled in an accident after 23 years and 210,000 miles. When I bought the Acura I also picked up an Acura Service Manual which enabled me to do my own auto maintenance and most repairs. Now I have replaced the Acura with a 2021 Prius and am looking for a Prius Repair Manual in PDF or hard copy and have a couple questions: 1. If I subscribe to the Toyota Information Service (TIS) for a 2 day subscription period, will I be able to quickly download the Repair Manual in a searchable PDF format? I contacted my local Toyota dealer but they could not answer this question. 2. If the Repair Manual is not available via download from TIS, can you recommend another source for the Repair Manual?
You can create a searchable PDF by signing in to TIS and clicking "Print to File" in every section of the manual (there are lots of sections) and then using a PDF merge utility to combine the files. I know you wrote 'quickly', but....
If you do download (print to file) the PDF sections and/or combine the files into a single file, it would be a lovely service to post the result(s) here so that other 2021 owners can benefit from your effort. Thank you in advance. FYI, if you don’t have the ability to combine PDF files I would be more than happy to do it for you. Remember, this is a Prius community.
Thank you for your response. A PriusChat member on this website reported trying Print to File for every section of the TIS Repair Manual and said the process took 6 hours. I’m looking for a quick and easy download or hard copy purchase. One possibility is a PDF 2021 Prius Repair Manual for $79.99 from the website factory-manual. Do you or anyone you know have experience with repair manuals from the factory-manual website? I am looking for detailed diagrams and step-by-step instructions to guide me for the next 20 years of DIY maintenance, diagnostic and repair work on my Prius.
Have you reviewed all the options under "Where To Find It" on this page? Toyota Service Information and Where To Find It | PriusChat I'm not enthusiastic about third-party manuals. They were all I had for my first car. When I bought my next one I bought the factory manual at the same time (around $250 then, equivalent to about $700 today) and it was the best money I ever spent on that car. I've never looked back to third-party manuals. That wiki page, though, describes a few third-party sites that are actually providing the real Toyota manual content.
