Hi people. Been battling with a 2015 Prius, that I need to get the dashboard light, and the ignition to turn on, but without success.

When I turn on the ignition switch, the dash lights are blank, with only "key not detected" displaying, and the key sign blinking.

I recently replaced the HV ECU, driver side fusebox, smart key module, etc, because the vehicle was a flooded one.

I am trying to get access to the ECU ID CODE module, but without success.

A colleague told me, the ECU ID CODE is behind the AC evaporator. If so, it appears , I need to remove the dashboard again.

I want to confirm if that is correct. Does anyone has the body main wiring harness, that can point me to where the module is?

    Thanks for the help.

I see you replaced the HV ECU. A car's HV ECU and immobilizer ECU are paired to each other, and there's a specific procedure in the repair manual to be followed if either one has to be replaced. Is it possible that procedure wasn't followed exactly?

Hi Chap. All the aforementioned parts were replaced because they were flooded. For this vehicle, as long as the HV ECU, smart key modules etc were replaced, the smart key itself needs to be programmed, and paired with the replacement parts, if not, the key won't recognise the replaced smart key module.
I needed to know where the location of the ECU ID code is located, so that it can synchronised with the key, smart key module, and HV ECU.
Fig below shows how it looked like online. Second picture are the key and the smart key module

The US market 3rd generation Prius does not use the ID code ecu as the European market does. The US market uses a Certification ECU (smart key ECU).

Thanks so much for the reply. You are absolutely correct. I had to dismantle the dashboard, remove the evaporator to check every where, couldn't find it. There is no ECU ID code box like other models on this 2015 Prius, and some models of RAV4/Camry I think 2013, or so.
The smart key code ECU is what we later used.

The programmer guy copied all the files from the old smart key module, unto the new used one
