I am unable to find the "passcode" on my iphone. The setup instruction in the manual tells me to enter the passcode into my cell phone. My bluetooth is turned on on the iphone. I am unable to find out how to turn on the "passcode" of 1212. If I dial the number on my cell phone, it will connect O.K. to my car. I want my "contacts" to be entered into my NAV/phone memory.
I suspect there was some context left out of the original post, and the poster is trying to pair the phone via Bluetooth to the car. Bluetooth pairing often involves an authentication step where one of the devices will generate a few-digit code and display it, and you're supposed to enter that code on the other device, to confirm those are the devices you wanted to pair. Maybe the OP should give more detail on the steps being followed. What's on the car display at what step, and what's on the iPhone display at what step.
The Prius manual tells me to enter "1212" into my phone. My problem is that I cannot find the place to enter "1212". I have gone into settings and searched. In "passwords" menu, I see a "passkey" set to "0". It was never set. I will enter a code and see what happens. My phone uses face recognition to open. I cannot see how to enter a passkey on my phone. I am 82 and stay confused. I will go to Verizon for help.
Okay, when you "pair" it, the radio will ask you to enter a passcode, or key. They it does whatever it does to communicate with the phone, then a display should open so you can put the passcode/key that you entered on the phone.... I am 98, and try to stay away from confusion.
