Actuator Assembly, Brake - Toyota (44500-47141). This part number replaces 44500-47140.

The new (online) price for this part from Olathe Toyota is currently $1,209.83, which is discounted from the MSRP $1,627.04 (25.6% discount of $417.21)

I'm not sure what's up with the website. It says this part is OEM Toyota Actuator Assembly, Brake For 2006-2009 Toyota Prius, but then over on the right, it says this part does not fit your vehicle. It is definitely the correct part number for a 2006 Prius.

So the diagnostics came back with a C1256, which is accumulator low pressure. Exactly as expected. The alarm was only for about 2 seconds and then cleared. The car is functioning just fine.

These are available online new from Toyota dealers for $1200ish. If I planned to keep the car, I would spend the money on a new one. You don't want to pay labor twice or more if a used one doesn't work correctly. Doing the job right takes a bit of time as there's also specific brake bleeding procedures and some minor programming to do. Anyone can do it half-assed and skip steps because "i don't think it's needed". Two days later you have a bunch of chirping from the brake system because all the air wasn't removed. There's only one right way to do it.

    Toyota 44500-47141 ACTUATOR Assembly, Brake
