Just know that there are people here that hate the 3rd generation and always bash it and the people who like it and don't have the issues they cry about. EVENTUALLY, you will need a head gasket. But it's nothing to lose sleep over. I went 301,000 miles before mine started failing. I had ordered the parts I needed and was planning on replacing it within a week or two BEFORE it failed, You can do the same. The oil burning is another issue. I'm at around 1.5-2 qts every 5000 miles. Depending on how Fast and hard I drive it. From what I saw here in Prius Chat, the ones that failed earlier were the ones that did mostly city driving. 90% of my driving was highway. I'm still on the original master cylinder and booster. But it's cycling at around 21 seconds. It was around 30 second 8 years ago when I first got the car. I'm planning on replacing the engine with a remanufactured one and do the brakes at the same time so that I will have more room. I REALLY like my Prius! I has been very reliable and faithful. And 2 weeks ago I installed the finished Sodium hybrid battery, and it's GREAT! Be happy with your Pius, no matter what the cry babies cry. EVERY car will need parts and work, parts wear out. Make sure you got the correct bulbs for the head lamp assembly. I can't find them for the correct bulbs mine has. I would have to buy an adapter wire harness if I replace the assemblies. So I'll just polish them, eventually....
My post is off topic. I know that you are referring to the NexPower battery, but what do you mean by "finished" Sodium hybrid battery? What is "finished" about it? Why did you replace the NexPower sodium-ion hybrid battery that you installed last year?
This is a good strategy. Gasketmasters has been making a good living for years on gen3 head gaskets and engine replacements as have many other independents nationwide. In fact Gasketmasters put out a video last year recommending preemptive hg repairs. Toyota issued a tsb recommending the latest ecm software as a preemptive hg measure. So when some of us are warning about head gaskets, it is for a reason. We are not gen3 haters; we are realists. Because they did not get it right the first time. I have the 9005 and H11 bulbs. I've looked at dozens of assemblies. And they either say they are for different bulbs, or when I write and ask none of them have said they are for the ones I have. So I would have to buy new bulbs, and 2 wire harnesses to adapt the original harness to the other type of bulbs. I rarely drive at night so it's not a huge deal, I've just not been motivated to clean them properly. Eventually I will though.
My headlights have yellowed a bit/oxidised will be taking them out and restoring, as well as fixing same issue as yours but just 1 of mine not both got condensation or a leak. If you check this video out on how to test for a possible leak/can use his box and heat gun method to dry the headlight out properly. You will need to remove the front bumper though to gain access for removal.
