Mixing battery cells

    I’ve read in many posts that it’s not possible to mix Gen 2 and Gen 3 modules unless you replace the entire pack.

    However, from my own experience, it can actually be done. On my 2008 model, I replaced 4 modules with ones manufactured in 2014 (at the time, I wasn’t aware of any supposed limitations).

    Now, another module has failed, and the only replacements I can find are 2014 Lexus module.
    Will they work? Do they also contain 6 internal cells?

    You're mixing up modules and cells. A module contains six cells. A Prius has 28 modules all up.

    Check the voltage of the Lexus modules, and if they look visually the same as your Gen 2/Gen 3 modules, they should be okay..
