Cataclean and there are a few others that folks have said worked . Personally I've not used . I don't have emissions. Some people on other lists with Toyotas that aren't Prius swear by it
The only thing I've seen written about with any indication of actual promise was taking the thing off and circulating a heated citric and oxalic acid solution through it for a period of time. I haven't seen any report of someone trying that on a Prius; would be interested to see how to set it up, given the converter is part of a whole long pipe assembly with a heat exchanger and other stuff.
Cut it off, clean and reweld? Sounds like a lot of work for a long shot though. come to think of it, that’s how the aftermarket catalytic converters are installed, is it not? just for info, what’s the miles on it?
Actly how they install unless a bolt on option available usually at very hi cost. I've always thought taking two 5,000 lb converters and tacking them online like the two bulbous things they're now. And you've got twice the catalyst material l. Now I bet lites off
