The warranty & maintenance guide only goes up to 120,000 miles, do I start over from 5,000 miles again after that? Thanks, Tang
To me, it looks like the 30,000 to 60,000 mile interval is a repeat list of maintenance items (same as 60K-90K, 90K-120K). So I would just keep using that interval (120K-150K, 150K-180K, 180K-210K, etc.).
look for any special notes, like inverter or engine coolant changing to every 50k, and things like that.
I extrapolotated the US service out to 240K, pdf and spreadsheet versions. The latter is handy in that as you scroll to the right the left column info continues to be visible.
Read up on the EGR cleaning threads here. The EGR system (cooler, valve and intake manifold) eventually clogs up and should be cleaned.
This is great. Would you happen to know if this would also work for the fourth generation? I have a 2017 Prius Two.
What to do after 120,000 miles? For a 2011? See post #4. I'd probably ALSO read the 10 longest threads about head gasket failures, EGR cleaning and the infamous "Prius Death Rattle." -remember..... They CALL it a "Warranty and Maintenance Guide" for a REASON. Toyota only cares about the car during the warranty period, because after THAT??? -not their problem.
No. If you download and open with excel you can color it. If not available I can give it a go, post again.
I actually just compared your 2010 one with my 2017 maintenance guide and I think it's pretty much the same. Also I just noticed one small error in your 2010 though. The change inverter coolant at 100,000 miles is not colored in. It is colored at 150k and 200k though. Or maybe with a 2010 that's not required until 150k?
Toyota USA does their level best to confuse everyone with engine and inverter coolant changes. Maybe they even intended both to occur at 100k miles, and had a change of mind, who knows. Anyway: As you noted, on the 100k mile (or 10 years) page, it does say, quite explicitly, to change both. I took it at face value too, why not. But then someone pointed out, there's a suffix "3" with that instruction. From the 4th gen pamphlet: Go to the following page, and down in the bottom in fine print, there's this: Seems like they did a mail-it-in fix with gen 3, then enshrined it thereafter. FWIW, Toyota Canada does not make the distinction, says to change both at 160k kms (~100k miles) or 10 years, whichever comes first. I emailed them to verify, considering I see this sticker on the side of the inverter coolant reservoir, on our Canadian spec 2010: ^ That label is a bit comical. For starters, it contradict what Toyota Canada says in their 2010 booklet. Then, the English version uses miles, the French gets kms. The two Asian translations, god knows... I think the States delays inverter coolant change to 150K miles is it's not subject to as much abuse. But yeah, very confusing.
FWIW, from Toyota USA second gen Warranty and Maintenance Booklet: So, similar footnote, but both still at 100k miles, the footnote is purely to clarify subsequent interval shall be 50k miles. Also, worth noting, my aim making this spreadsheet, was to just summarize what Toyota says, not add stuff. And then, to extrapolate. But there are a few others worth considering, transaxle fluid change and brake fluid change (the latter IS spec'd by Toyota Canada, every 48k kms (30k miles) or tri-yearly, whichever comes first. And for gen 3 owners, I'm always harping on about EGR cleaning, at least every 50k miles.
