Priusv fob does not always open door. I click it, stand next to car and sometimes it works. Seems like after I drive and come back, it works. I have tried both fobs, new batteries, same issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

12v auxiliary battery is how old? Getting colder outside?

I would suspect the door lock solenoid as well.

Does the lock function always work?

Does the door handle open function work on your v3 trim?

Do you have "all doors open" setting enabled and if so, do the other doors open? If not enabled, do so as a test.

Got the 12 volt battery replaced this am, so far seems to have solved issue. Surpsiningly, short of going to the Stealrship, nobody wanted to touch replacing the battery even though I told them it was not the hybrid cell. I did find a couple who quoted 400$ plus, finally just used AAA.

Well, I was wrong. Problem still with tthe door. Again, it is itermittent. Both fobs have new batteries, and neither mechanical key will open door. Question, is that key supposed to turn or just acitvate the unlock when inserted. They key does not turn. Really need some help, starting to panic. Thanks.

The lock turns. It is jammed, possibly by the solenoid or is uncut. You never answered the other questions.

The manual key has to be cut for your car. This is a cut key.

When the fob works, it will open the driver and or all doors. Once inside, door switch works. New 12 volt battery done on Thursday, both fobs have fresh batteries as well. Did WD40 on the lock overnight but did nothing, key. still does not turn. The keys are the ones that came with fobs.

If the key does not open the door the linkage or mechanism is faulty OR the key was cut wrong.

A follow up to this issue... I tested both fob batteries and checked that they were clean inside as well. Each cell showed 2.5v. I used 2 different meters as well for the cells. My thinking was that 2.5 should still be working; maybe that is why it was intermittent opening?? I bougth new cell, tested at 3 v. No issues opening the door. I was also able to use the mechanical key without any issues, which brings me to my next question. My thinking, maybe wrong, that the mechanical key would open the door when the fob failed which it did not do. I would think that the cell should be able to work even at 2v, any ideas?

A coin cell is discharged at less than 3v. Lithium cells have full voltage until they die when they discharge quickly. At 2.5v both of your coin cells were not new. New can easily hold voltage in storage for ten years or more.

Mechanical key should work to open the door with zero voltage in the fob or the car. It is strictly mechanical.

New lithium coin cell batteries should be at 3.2 to 3.3 volts.
