My 2012 has door edge guards that I believe are a Toyota accessory. There is what looks like thin black adhesive tape. I just replaced a damaged door and rather that buy a whole new set of guards I want to remove what is on the car

any suggestions to what is the best way to remove the edge guards and adhesive pinstripes

Did you find a good way to remove the door edge guards without scratching the door?

You can basically spill them off and you and leave behind the adhesive tape on the door. Goo gone did a good job removing that. If you use a heat gun you can get the adhesive soft enough to either pull off with the plastic or rub off by hand

I gently warmed them with heat gun, got a corner lifted and took my time peeling it off. Then went over the zone with a liquid wax, removed glue remnants.
