Are there any Gen 2 LED Headlights on the market? Like not the bulb, but the whole housing be led with like daytime running lights and all?
Assuming you need a new housing for some reason and not just do a build swap? Or are hell bent on drl? Maybe with a two step using this and then swap halogen for one of many of the choices for LED bulb also on Amazon.
I already have LED bulbs for the headlights in my HID housing. Was a simple swap and drop. But I was wondering if there is any full LED Housings being made. For example search "mustang led lights". Companies make tons for those cars but i've yet to find any made for gen 2 prius.
Oh. I’m curious which LED bulbs do you have for the HID? Was it a simple conversion or do you have to change the other components? Are they on Amazon?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes I got them on amazon. Here they are:""Was plug and play for me. Only works with HID headlights not halogen.
Are you sure? They look like drop-in halogen replacements to me. The ad says in one place, "High Brightness - AUXITO H4/9003 LED headlight uses customized ZES chips, 12000LM, 52W per set, 200% brighter than halogen headlights." And then further down it says, " Easy to Install AUXITO H4 LED bulbs are fully all in one designed, do not have external driver and connector, directly plugged in just like halogen bulbs. Non-polarity socket, plug and play. Make sure the two sides of the LED chips face 3 and 9 o'clock direction after installed." Both these reference halogen, not HID.
I doubt you'd find anything decent for $90, so good luck with your quest. I think too many Americans trade quality for price and think they scored a bargain.
I ordered a set for $30. I agree but if there all from China and made in the same factory it doesn't make a difference IMO. Like ordering JDM parts online that arrived marked made in china. Just my opinion. I also ordered aftermarket smoked headlight assemblies without the amber side markers. My understanding is its just 12v two wires and bypassing the ballast to convert them to LEDs. The HIDs are so bad and pricey. I can barely tell the lights are on. I wish my car had the halogens. That is after replacing both ballast to get them work in the first place.
