Prius owners like to flock next to another Prius but this was ridiculous & crazy parking!

    What was this person thinking?????

I had to get in the passenger side and I can’t just back up without moving forward first unless I want to know whose side mirrors will get knock off first!:D

As you may have noticed, the driver of the vehicle in question has a handicapped tag on their rear view mirror and there's lots of handicapped drivers that don't drive very well and should't be driving but just barely qualify to do so. Also, they might of not of found an available handicapped space and had to use the one next to you and may of not had enough room to get their wheelchair out? As in handicapped people are NOT a wise target to express ire towards.

But yea, that's crazy close to your car. My first thought was it'd be a shame if you gave them some door dings, but then I saw the handicapped tag and was like, oh in that case I'd rather be grateful that I'm able-bodied enough to crawl through passenger side to the driver's seat rather than what my day would be like if I was physically unable to do that.

I saw a disabled plate and I assumed the driver might be an elderly, senior with a walker and I just brushed it off.

After I moved my car I saw an abled lady rushing to her car. I approached her and told her what was she thinking blocking my car and my door and I had to get in the passenger side.

    She said “ I am sorry “

Well; she was within her lines and you were within yours. You should've folded their mirror back, just to annoy them. If you folded your drivers mirror back too, you may have been able to sneak by.

In a NYC garage, the attendant would consider that generous spacing.

Part of the deal is also how skimpy some parking lots go with striping their spaces. Some lots look to only be 7½ feet wide while others can easily be 10 generous feet wide. That building's architecture in the background looks like some of the Newport Medical facility parking lots - some of those crowded areas are notorious for striping narrow lanes.

Wider spaces definitely add cachet to a shopping plaza, in my view.

Narrow and short spaces around here are usually marked "compact only"; that's not to say that I've seen large SUV's crammed in there and hanging out into traffic.
Cars parked like that usually gets keyed. Saw one like that the other day. Obviously not their first offense; since there was a "gangster pin-stripe" down the side of it. Probably the same person that jumps their rig onto the sidewalk, to get to the front of the intersection lamp.

Nothing more ridiculous than a dual cab long bed pickup that doesn't want to stick out into the drive path so they'll-taiI park their truck - backed in all the way into the first 2 ft of the adjacent parking stall behind them. God forbid they should park in the outh 40 where no one would care.

Well they need to back-in so their doors would clear; otherwise they wouldn't be able to get in-n-out of the rig. The wide nerf bars ensure that people don't park so close that they can't open their doors. Especially when some dummies park on either side of them.
See; there's a method to their madness, They not as dumb and bald as you think, and easy to under-estimate. Sometimes that's a strength, when used properly - shucks....o_O:rolleyes::ROFLMAO::sleep::sick:

At least a handful of them have the good sense to retract their massive side view trailer mirrors

A Costco near us has generous parking spaces, and double lines between them. Not all Costco's are thus, but this one did it, and it's great:

Disclaimer: don't shop there anymore, but loved the parking.

Apartment block and condominium underground parking is terrible, should be noted. Anyone considering a condo should check out the parking.

That's self-preservation; those mirrors are expensive and usually comes out of their own pocket.:(:sleep:

    YMMV

Did the guy stop and exchange information? We have a 3 foot rule in the people's republic of California - that would make them automatically liable for all expenses incurred, including ER visit and other expenses.

I don't mind walking a bit so I park where there's less cars
