Have any of you had luck submitting any records for service done by youself or an independent shop (not the dealership) to the Toyota Owner's website? I submitted something about a week ago and it still hasn't appeared on the service history. In the meantime, the dealership records appear there almost instantly.

    What gives?

I've never seen a non-dealership entry on that website... But sure would be cool if that was possible. Please update us on how it goes in coming weeks. I bet @ericbecky could make use of that for his 5K mile Gen2...

If you submitted an entry, but it doesn't show up in your service history, then I would just go ahead and submit that same entry again. Worst case scenario is that you have a duplicate entry with the same date+mileage; which isn't a problem because I'm pretty sure you can delete any self entries.
My main issue with the Toyota Owners website is that sometimes my service history doesn't show up (maybe they were down for maintenance?), and I'd have to just check back the next day. But when my service history was up, I was always able to submit my own self entries.

I've done them for years, never had any issue. However, about once a year, i download the records in case their site acts up.

I have another update. Here is what I learned:

    1. If you submit the service record as 'third party', they do not show up for some reason. This is what I had done last week because the service was done at the dealership where I bought the vehicle.

    2. If you submit as 'self-reported', it does show up, but in a convoluted way. For example, a few categories for service are available to choose from (brakes, oil change etc.). If you choose those, those keywords show up in the record. However, if you choose 'other' and type something in the box, only the word 'other' shows up in the record. You have to then download the record as pdf to see the details.

    3. This limitation does not apply to the dealer, because whatever they type shows up as a full comment in the service column.
