I’m obligated to, due to my frequent connecting an external charger for the 12 volt battery. If not something like that, find a reason, say check reservoir levels, the oil dipstick, say once a week. Doubly so if you’re parked outside.

Too, mesh the cabin egress points. The manufacturers should be obligated to do this, but until that happens…

 

Don't forget chipmunks. Our 2008 Prius got taken out in 2021 by chipmunks during the covid lockdowns. Wasn't worth fixing, scrapped the vehicle - the catalytic converters were worth more than the car.

 

How long was it sitting like this? Looks like quite awhile. Even if you get it fixed I'd expect the traction battery is discharged as well.
