I feel like the interior lights in my 5th-generation Prius are too dim, so I'd like to replace them. However, I can't find any relevant examples on YouTube or the web. The only example I found is this link. Has anyone actually replaced the interior lights? Or is it impossible to replace the bulbs in the 5th-generation?
If I was asked to do this for someone, I'd spend 3 or 4 hours online finding an entirely different light fixture with more features that looks cooler and then fabricate a viable mounting system for it then I'd post it on here and others would like the look so much they'd do the same.
They're LEDs soldered onto a PCB that controls the buttons, lights, etc. If you do decide to solder on new LEDs do let us know what types, voltages, etc you used. I am curious as the harsh white LEDs kind of suck and I'd like to move to warmer colors.
Yep harsh white LEDs are the worst... But the good news is some of the newer LEDs are coming out with a temperature control knob so you can have a warmer softer color instead of harsh cold white. I'm a huge activist when it comes to warmer temperature LED. Studies have found the cold blue ones are bad for your health...
