from Canada where we get near zero F temps in winter i ran obd2 tester yesterday and it shows 11.3v on battery. It's it time to replace or do I have a year left? B
better to get a load test at an auto parts store. how old is it? how often do you drive, can you put a maintainer on it?
If its 11.3v, ten years old and driven every day, a load test will likely fail it. An original ten year old battery should be replaced anyway in my experience. If its 11.3v, one year old and driven about once a week, a load test will probably pass. A maintainer would be a good idea. If its 11.3v, one year old and driven every day, a load test will likely pass but you may have an excessive parasitic draw. So more information gets you a better guess on what the load test may show and then how to proceed.
Yes it's a month shy of 10yrs old. So I guess it's time. At 90k and 10yrs, my maintenance app shows brakes and brake fluid. I guess time for those too. B
the only brake maintenance would be lubricating the slide pins. inspect everything, and replace anything worn beyond spec.
What app is that? With our 2010 Prius there was no mention in the Canadian schedule of brake fluid replacement. However as of model year 2014 I noticed it was added, every 48k kms (~30k miles) or 3 years, whichever comes first. In the US schedule, general brake inspection (vaguely described but apparently more in-depth than “visual” inspection) is the same interval.
