I haven't voted 'straight' ticket since I can't remember when.

I have respect, and have voted for candidates on all sides of the great divide.
REMEMBER that no matter how big they are, canyons can and often DO have more than two sides.

How many Dem politicians have been labeled a DINO or such for voicing differences with the party leadership?

 

It looks like the poll says that, my mistake, but the context is 2021, after Jan 6 and after the dems won. I don’t think dems would be on board with Biden if he attacked the Capitol to stop the final certification in January 2025, which he could have done the same way 45 did. I wouldn’t be on board, I would want him prosecuted. Maga stayed with 45, always defending him.

Senator Fetterman comes to mind even though he probably votes the donkey side of the issues more than nine times out of ten, and I'll betcha there are some Donkeys who are pooping in their stalls over not picking the Jew (Shapiro) or the Conservative Redneck (Beshear) instead of the useless idiot that they ran with the other useless idiot that forced this Never Trumper to ONCE AGAIN face the fact that our Creator REALLY REALLY doesn't like me to use that word.

I've sparred with conservatives over McCain, McConnel, Romney, et al.

Came close on Ford but he only pardoned one and missed the Vietnam War protesters. Ford left that to Carter whom I did vote for and Carter pardoned them.

Voting involves two parts: (1) policy, and; (2) character. When I don't like either candidate, I vote Democratic.

This thread was very prescient. Yes I will be more cautious just like this guy from Texas wants. I wouldn’t want to die due to disrespecting a masked ice agent. Or just walking by them. Ok well reality is here, the government no longer allows dissent or free speech if it is critical of the king. King says disrespect is worthy of shot to death. Never thought to see these days.

And holy moly, quite a few of candidates on the Dem side weren't my faves in my voter history. But when all else fails, vote with your conscience -- which is a helluva lot easier now. If a standup candidate on the gop side, not just a gum-agile Mouth of Sauron for a bunch of profiteering thugs, had the bravery and an actual effing plan to make this country a better place for all its citizens (plus improve our standing in the free world amongst our many teetering Allies)... of f***ing course I'd consider a vote for them. But that hasn't and won't be the case probably another generation, if ever.
