Good afternoon all, when I bought this Prius, the bottom glove box didn’t seem to want to open unless you pushed it to the left. Once I get it open, there seems to be nothing wrong or anything in the way. I have replaced that filter on more than one occasion so I’ve had to look back there. I can’t seem to figure out why it doesn’t seem to want to easily open and close. on the left side where the button is, the door is proud about 3/8 of an inch or so and is not flush with the button. It moves if I push it back and forth. any pointers?
There is a "shock" on the right side, as you look at it, perhaps it is stuck? There are two positions for it fit on.
It seems to overlay. It’s a little wobbly and in the first slot. Seems to lean more to the right. right side is flush and left side is a bit proud.
Proud? Make sure the door is attached correctly where the two slots are at the pivot point on the bottom of the door
It's probably not really hooked in on the left side / Pull the whole thing out & have a look so you know how it works, then use a flashlight & you see exactly how it's going in / How to remove the lower glove box door ? | PriusChat
Sorry…. Using finish carpentry terms. Proud means it’s sticking out a bit. It’s in both of the pivot holes. Still off though.
Here are some photos. I have to push from the right to get it to drop down. So the door sticks out a little bit on the top left. I suspect that pushing the button doesn’t push the releasing far enough to make the right side completely release.
