I have 2015 Prius v3 and recently changed water pump on it. 2 weeks before car started giving low gas mileage and there was burning sensation and tongue tingles after 5 minutes of driving. No smell of fuel in the car. Gas mileage has improved after 2 days of changing water pump but that burning sensation on tongue and mouth has gotten worse. Should I get some CO fumes detector. Please suggest any remedies. Thanks
This is a story I haven't encountered before, but if you have any concerns about possible CO in the cabin, getting a good CO detector (ideally the kind with a ppm display, not just a honker) is cheap, and probably the only way that you will either confirm the issue or set your mind at rest.
This sounds more electrical in origin than combustion/CO, but agree with the need to get it to ground, quickly. A CO 'dot' in the cabin will tell the story.

Open the windows and drive. If present, CO will be eliminated with air dilution. The same test works for refrigerant (freon) leaks. Electric usually has that typical burning smell most have experienced. Tongue tingling is usually low blood sugar, low calcium levels or anxiety.
Also been known to be an effect of battery acid/vapor or engine coolant/vapor. One reason I don't do the 'taste test' of car fluids. Always shake my head when I see people do the sniff and lick test....on car stuff...

I have been going through the same problem for about a year and I have been chasing this problem for a long time. You are not crazy, this thing is very toxic and not to be played with so if anybody have any solutions please this is a problem no mechanic nor toyota service centers have been able to figure out. I changed egr cooler and egr, brand new cat converter from toyota so its not an exhaust issue like i thought it was, new water pump, I even bypassed the heater core thinking it was the coolant from heater. If you have ever breathed in coolant its the same sensation, mouth numbs quickly you taste metal. Driving for long period of time you will get flu like symptons, rolling down the windows do not work. I recently decided to take it to one last shop that specializes in Japanese cars and they didnt find the problem but they pointed me in a direction no one else could after working on this car myself and sending it everywhere for test. I was told that it could be from the HV battery seeing that this is 2015 and it does not come with a vent tube like gen 2 still which is kind of stupid of toyota because the battery had tubes before now they dont and ,I believe the mechanic is right when he said it is most likely the battery. I can recall that every time I open the back hatch the strength of it it seems strong. Its not the 12 v battery thats brand new and vented . Bro you are not crazy and not sick. This situation can hurt you. My care is well over due for a hybrid battery, but gosh if it is the battery I want to make everyone aware of this situation because this is a situation that hasnt been talked about. Currently ordering a gen 2 vent hose and I will hose it out the side of the quarter panel myself. If anyone else went through this please chime in.
