Different part numbers, and different titles, different first model year, lots of differences? The MAP sensor on my 2010 has what looks like a small resistor at the business end, inside a little plastic cage. I dropped in on a guy doing an EGR clean in our neighbourhood (young guy, in his parent's driveway, sunny day about 0C ), and when he pulled the MAP sensor it looked pretty much the same, except that "resistor" was nowhere to be seen, just an empty cage. IIRC it was a few model years ahead, say a 2013.
it does say both fit a 2012 and they look identical. Since the headgasket replace my fuel economy has dropped 7-10 mpg to 34-37 while before the replace I was at 42-48mpg. Dr Prius tests at 60% and if it was the traction battery it would be a gradual decrease not a sudden drop. After some interneting a lot of the symptoms led me to believe the timing chain was off. I had a mechanic look everything over and it all looked good. Even checked the cat converter flow and that was good. After some back and forth dialogue the mechanic suggested it could be the aftermarket MAF and possible O2 getting close to be bad but was still in spec. The aftermarket MAF causing the issue made a lot of sense since mechanical everything had the thumbs up. So after all that I just want to be sure getting the correct sensor.
I see the second one (22204-28010), a lot cheaper, on amayama, and it's indicated as compatible, for my Canadian 2010's VIN. The other it didn't like. It asks for frame no, which can be found on same decal as the VIN (in driver's door frame).
You seem to be talking about the MAP sensor (which, as I recall, does come in versions with and without a little doodad on the business end). But I think the OP is talking about the MAF sensor.
