I am in the proces of resurrecting an 2010 Prius. I am at the point that i don't have any more fault codes but the car still does not go to ready. I suspect that maybe one or more modules don't work. I had the same problem with the TCM. Does the inverter show up as part of the hybrid module or should it just show itself as a seperate module? I have added a picture of all the modules present. Also a picture of my dash. Hope someone can help me figure out why it won't start
Have you tried removing and reinstalling the safety switch for the hybrid battery? It's very easy for it not to be correctly set....
Yes, i even tried other safety switches. Also measured the resistance from the switch. What i also noticed is that wen i turn the ignition off i have to wait a good 10 seconds before i can turn it on again. Don't know if it's suppose to do that
With Techstream i found this fault code. Also found that the start permission is not being received. Also found that the theft deterrent module is not communicating. Any thoughts on where to find the solution?
Just an update on this post. The car still does not start. Ready doesn't turn on. What i did was read all the data from the prius, prius-c and Lexus rx450h. Non have a specific theft deterrent system. The data that was different with the other 2 cars was that the s code, l code show NG and the master key "unset". On the other cars S and L code showed OK. Master key showed 'Match". So far i checked all the wiring and replaced the TCM and smart key module. I'm waiting for a complete set with ECU, TCM, PCM, SKM, Key, Push button and the module next to the PCM. Will give an update when i receive the items
One more question. According to the repair manual a TCM and smart key module can be replaced without further action which seems strange to me because they are part of the immobilizer system. Is the handshake procedure meant to like put them all on the same frequency again? Can i do this with my Launch X431 or Techstream?
