I just purchased a 2025 Prius PHEV Premium with the advanced tech package including the digital rearview mirror and I would like to hardwire my Uniden radar detector with a RJ11 plug. Are there any wiring diagrams available? I would like to use a mirror tap like I have in all my vehicles for the last 15 years. However if that's not possible, is there a tutorial on how to wire it to the fuse box and get through the firewall?
There is a power source inside the upper moulding covering the mirror mount. I don't know any details; I paid someone to connect it.
I connected mine to a usb hub that connects to the power mirror cable thru an adapter. Tucked the hub above the mirror housing.
Thank you! I have a XLE PHEV with the rearview camera mirror so I don't believe I can use the USB hubs from my understanding. I've got a wiretap I'd like to use if possible. Anyone else with any suggestions? Thanks!
Here is a potential solution to proving power to a radar detector. It costs 2000 Yen or about $13 USD plus shipping and tariffs. Power Harness Optional Couple (1-Piece Set) for Prius (60mm thread) Easy connection for ignition, and ACC (always on). If some is interested in purchasing you can copy the rakuten link to the buyee.jp search window and after creating an account and purchasing they will handle the shipping to the USA from Japan. You pay for shipping once buyee.jp gets the product in stock so you have to watch for an email from them that you product is in stock and ready to ship. You pay shipping at that time. I haven't purchased one but came across it looking at this companies (ie Share Style) products. I just ordered a brighter interior lamp they sell. Should be here in a couple weeks. I have made a couple of other previous purchases using buyee.jp and it works well.
I have not decided on which radar detector I want, but this was recommended to me and I’m guessing should work in any trim level: https://a.co/d/0cvPs2Er I can’t promise though because I haven’t installed it. If anyone has and wants to comment on whether it worked or not, I would be appreciative… OP might be too.
