The dealership wants $4,000 to replace this part, claiming they need remove the dashboard and drop the engine to get to it. I've read that it's possible to replace it DYI, but haven't actually seen any guides. Can anyone help me out?

I've never looked this procedure up for a gen 4. Remove the dash I believe; drop the engine I wouldn't believe unless I read it in the repair manual myself....

I could imagine them saying the whole HVAC unit under the dash might have to come out for access to that servo, which would mean disconnecting coolant and refrigerant lines behind the engine (and then refilling and recharging after the repair). If they've really made things so tight in the engine bay that the engine needs to be moved for that access, well, yuck.
