    I took a long uber ride in a Kia EV6 today. First time I'd been in one.

    Man, that back seat is not comfortable. Just no thigh support and the floor is so high, with no footroom. Pretty rude after 2 hours in a coach airline seat.

    The rest of the car seemed nice, but I'm really looking forward to designs where they can put the battery somewhere other than under the floor.

    Yesterday I saw a Chevrolet SSR pickup.

    There are a few around town so that isn't a terribly rare sighting, but this is the first time I've seen one in truly decrepit condition. I don't think it was deliberately "ratted" but still looked like it had been stored in a lake for a while.

    Kia EV4. First one in the while. The front looks fine.... the rear.... needs work lol.

    :( But yeah the floor is high relative to the seat bottom. No questions about that. Just hope the front seat was far enough for you to stretch out as really, the legroom is the only saving grace.

    Yup haha.

    Yeah that made the difference between "discomfort" and "misery" as far as my tall self is concerned.

    I noticed that there was remarkably little toe-room under that front seat. Not like 2000s floor pans where there was room for a navigation computer or a subwoofer.

    Yes. That is a problem. And I think it's partly due to the high floor and low ceiling. A shorter driver would raise the seat a bit and give some wiggle room but if I'm driving, the seat's on the floor. Something like a bZ with a more traditional shape will afford more interior height.

    I'm hoping it isn't too long before battery energy density gets to the point where they can just do a "tunnel" like classic FR layout cars, and then have the battery occupy that space + wherever the gas tank would've been.

    Then the floor can drop back down to where it was.

    Many of us over 6 ft will be more than happy NOT seeing the consideration of how far people can stoop down to get in a vehicle
