I just bought a 2008 Prius. It has 168,900 miles. I have detailed CarFax Service Records. It shows the Inverter was serviced by Toyota at 99,800 miles. But I really don't know if that means the Inverter Pump has been replaced. Please advise.
Sign up for a Toyota account and enter the VIN. They may have a record of the last time it was changed.
I would wait until you figure out how well the car drives and what other problems arise before changing the inverter pump. Since it's working now, you can wait until the car is completely sorted before changing it. And I would recommend only using Original Toyota parts
Wow, I'm getting old. I didn't know there was such a thing. I did create an account and it has very detailed records. According to the records Toyota serviced the car. It says found inverter coolant pump malfunction. So they replaced the Inverter Pump.
When was it replaced (how many miles and years ago)? If it is over 100k miles you might want to do it proactively, as it sucks when these these go out at an inopportune moment. Only use the OEM pump. Unless you don't mind changing it again.
