Bought 2 years ago then just recently registered my 2016 prius v on the toyota website, it is nearing 115000 miles. there is a lack of service record after 2020/45000 miles. parts list there claims there is a fan vent filter on the hybrid battery. i think there is access under the cargo cover but not positive. any and all advice in doing this myself such as location and a basic run down of the procedure if there is one or is it that only you can clean the fan(s)? the car care nut has a lot of this very topic on other models on his youtube channel but this exact model range is missing. wish i was dreaming and not need this?

There is no filter on your 2016 gen3 Prius v. The air intake has a plastic "grille" under the rear passenger's seat.

A 2016 standard hatchback is a gen4 and is different.

The best thing to do is to access the hybrid battery and clean the squirrel cage blower wheel.

It is not necessary to remove the right side hatch panel

After cleaning, avoid blocking the right rear foot well which allows air movement under the seat.
