My wife refuses to drive my Prius because, she says, "it keeps screaming at me and slamming on the brakes when I try to put it in the garage". I trust her to get it in without damage (she manages fine with her Sienna) but it would be nice to have a single-button "turn off TSS nannies". Does this exist? (I know I can go through menus to turn all those things off, but she isn't interested in following a procedure of several dozen button-presses just to feel comfortable about parking the car.)

You can use the carista obd2 adapter and app to alter the warning distance for the parking sensors. I think by default they have a long distance setting but you can shorten it.

Realistically though your wife needs to be a better driver and train herself on how far the car is from things when certain distance warnings are playing. Warning plays, she needs to put it in park, get out, and see just how far she is from an obstacle or wall. She needs to remember that. Then get back in, move closer, warning changes, get out, see what that one means.

Is it annoying? Yes. Will she be a better and more aware driver once she understands which warnings indicate what distance she is from things? Absolutely.

I don't have a solution for OP, but do want to chime in that it's not necessarily a "skill issue" - my current garage opening is somewhat narrow, so as I reverse in to park the proximity sensors will inevitably trigger. I have just under 6 inches clearance on each side past my side mirrors which should be plenty, but going through the door will set off the rear proximity sensors regardless.

While not a problem for me, I understand how it can feel like sensory overload coming from regularly driving a car without those systems. Automatic brakes usually does mean you're accelerating too close to a perceived obstacle so that might be something to work on - I personally haven't run into that trying to park.

    Single button TTS off? No.

Options that might help your situation:

These two won't turn anything off, but might reduce sensitivity:
    - Pre-Collision System - set Warning Timing to Later
    - Proactive Driving Assist - set Support Sensitivity to Low

These two will turn things off:
    - PKSB (Parking Support Braking) - set to OFF (this will stop the car from braking on it's own at low speeds in both forward and reverse)
    - Pre-Collision System - set to OFF (this shuts down most of the predictive safety systems, including the beeping when you get close to things)

But are they permanent, or only until the car is turned off?
