Methods to secure rear bumper to retainer bracket?

    So I had a ripped rear bumper cover on my 2010 and I had this genius idea that I wanted to put a blue one on.

    I found one on facebook marketplace for cheap, checked it out, and bought despite noticing that the plastic rails along the top edge on either side of the bumper were kind of crummy.

    So yea it doesn't stay locked into the clips... and I'm very pissed.

    The thing is I dont care how it looks and I was wondering if anyone has a good hack to secure it.

    Usually I would just drill some holes and zip tie it, but it mates up to the metal body panels.

    Any one have ideas?

    Clear poly glue needs to set 24 hrs. Some glue processes use a UV light to set quicker.

    There are some thin gauge angle brackets available on the net, that supposedly work. I’ve yet to try on our ‘10, which is somewhat saggy. Google AI

    wanted to avoid glue in case i have to take it off for tail lights or something.

    You would just use a heat gun to gently heat the glue joint to the metal and pull it apart

    They make glues that are made to release when you pull on them or heat them so

    I hold my Prius's saggy butt up with strong twine tied to the plastic rail at the top, and at the bottom to a threaded eyebolt passed through a hole drilled in the bottom edge of the bumper cover. The reason for the eyebolt is to make the length adjustable, since it's difficult to adjust the string length perfectly in such an awkard location. Wire might work as well, but I suspected it might rattle.
