I actually liked the ad. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../702080372/1148 http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...368/1148/AUTO01 Some of the critics of the ad need to lighten up IMHO...
The premise of a robot holding various odd jobs is pretty funny, but I don't quite understand why they took it in such a dark direction. I can't help but see a parallel between the robot and the thousands of employees GM has let go in recent years. I was chuckling a little until the robot decided to commit suicide; at that point, it just got a little wierd. I don't think it conveys an image of a sound automobile manufacturer. I don't think it conveys anything. Perhaps they should have made an ad to demonstrate the advantages of buying one their vehicles instead of letting someone run rampant with a CGI budget. Just my two cents.
Don't our children need to learn how to kill themselves by watching TV? Someone thinks our sons need to learn to be homo's by watching the snickers commercial, so why not teach suicide too?
