I have noticed on a few Prius' driving around that sometimes the rims look like the one below and someitmes they look more simplified as in the picture at the bottom. Does toyota still include the plastic cover? Or are people opting to remove it? These are photos from Jeffs website taken at Carson toyota. Many on PC have decided to take off their rings for looks - the top pic has the factory rings on, the bottom has them off. Same rims.
removing them sure gives a different look but i've decided to leave them on since they've protected the rims a couple of times when i hit a curb...
I decided just the opposite. I liked the look without the trim rings so I took them off. If I hit a curb, I'll put them back on before I trade the car in for my new Prius.
Does anybody have a set of these rings they want to get rid of? I picked up my Prius last Wednesday and there were no plastic rings on the wheels. I'm guessing the dealership thought they were more packaging material. I've already scuffed my left passenger wheel cover on a curb and I feel naked without them.
Why don't you go to your dealer and let them know they weren't on the car when they delivered it. They should be able to make good on them.
