3/28/07 HyCam (UPDATE) The dealership called the car is fixed leather installed.. Wife drove down to pick it up at 11a on 3/29/07. She pulled out of the parking slot and turned on the A/C & *POOF* smoke started pouring out of the dash & then the rear deck/trunk area.!!!!!   My poor wife just started to cry, the General Manager came out & consolled her and told her not to worry the dealership will buy the car back and replace it with a fully loaded HyCam at no extra cost to us for having to deal with this & how sorry he was for her having to go through this expirence... She called me and said the GM said they would have to send the old car back to Toyota and be dismantled to find the problem ... They said the loaded HyCam would arrive in 5 days identical color to what we purchased but fully loaded.. I have to say, Thats customer service and I will send them business as it comes....! B)
Woo Hoooooo! What a nice feeling that must be. It seems they're a little late with the gesture but better now than never. Good luck with the new one.
Congrats on a successful resolution of a difficult ordeal, and on the dealer's doing the right thing in the end.

I'm sorry to hear that they couldn't fix the problem but verry happy to hear they are replacing the car without filing a claim. This is the textbook example of customer service that every dealer and manufacturer should follow.

That's great news! Congrats! Bout dang time. (BTW, were the mechanics working on the first car the guys in your avatar? )
wow. Now that's putting the customer first. I'm not talking just about monetary value and getting a loaded car but just the fact that they were willing to work with you to make sure the problem is solved and the case is closed.
