Depending on those countries that did not sign is a better option - they must have an awesome environmental record that demostrates how archaic Kyoto is. Indeed, a better alternative they are. Cheers; MSantos

The HSD system is the result of Argonne lab critiques of THS. The difference is that the Japanese have more impetus than the Big 3 and their thinking seems to be longer term. We do things differently. Sometimes we're right, sometimes they're right. It's not a black and white issue. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MSantos @ Apr 13 2007, 10:06 PM) </div> Kyoto is, sadly, a joke. Look at Canadian GHG trends from 1990 to present. Further development of the oil sands will make it worse. Has anybody come close to their Kyoto targets? I don't know of a single country that has.

Oh both with a single occupant going to and from work with some grocery shopping thrown in.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(IAO @ Apr 13 2007, 10:30 PM) </div> No, according to your govt. EPA "estimates" (the only real way to compare fairly, other than real measurements - and who would ever think of using real numbers ) Prius is 46 MPG and Hummer H3 is 15 MPG both overall ratings. That's just over three times (3.1). Did you compare using the H3 (it was the one mentioned in the article)? This is funny, as my anti-Prius (see below - called that because it consumes a lot more fuel than the Prius) is rated the same as the H3. I'm embarassed.
