Hello there! I am on the verge of selling my 7 passenger Tahoe(I'm single with no dependents)and getting a Prius. I figure I've been part of the problem for too long, time to start being part of the solution! So, if I'm gonna drive a smaller car, might as well make it look goooood. I'll be installing a 2" hitch reciever for my bike rack, and rockin' some presidential tint. I've done a search about rim sizes & tire sizes, and I've settled on 17" rims as acceptable. With that in mind, I'm curious if there is any updated info in regards to tire sizes that fit without any rubbing. 205/50/17 ? 205/55/17 ? 215/45/17 ? 215/50/17 ? I'm familiar with the downsides of added weight and rotational mass and all that. Any info about these sizes is much appreciated!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Frank Ricard @ May 18 2007, 01:42 PM) </div> 215/45/17 is the right choice. Scion tC use that as well.
I had 225/45/17 on my car at first and they rubbed with the sheetmetal with any good weight in the trunk. I went with 205/50/17 and they don't rub anymore.
