In the dark, I bumped into a post and put a dent in the rear bumper cover. Unfortunately the manual only shows two screws at the bottom and six nondescript fasteners. There is no text so I was wondering if anyone has some 'lessons learned' on rear bumper cover removal? It is a 2003 Prius. Bob Wilson

I got an estimate for $1,800 and decided to let my insurance company pick it up. With a Blue Book value of at least $10k, I don't have to worry about the insurance company declaring it a loss and taking the car. I had a 91 Camry, 183k miles, that was involved in a rain slick street accident. The driver side light, quarter panel and hood were damaged but everyone drove away and I later drove the car to the insurance company recommended repair center. Their estimate, $2,600 was over the Kelly Blue Book value and they pulled the title! I had no choice even though I would have gladly paid the extra to get the car rolling again. So if I'm in an accident and can avoid letting the insurance company take the car, I will. Soon as the Kelly value drops below $5k and the car is paid off, I'll drop collision coverage. Bob Wilson
I was looking for some directions, pictures or diagrams about the back bumper cover of a 2005 but never got any. So the dent is still there.
