<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Darwood @ Jul 13 2007, 10:06 AM) </div> They waived off the penalty because I complimented the photo's in the thread. And, if Dr. B. has any ideas on how to get rid of this pain in my backside... The whole nation can be saved.. I think it's a pandemic backside pain that's sweeping the nation.
Wow! Nothing but admiration to Dr. B. for giving good advice and taking a risk by posting his phone number! Who knows which of us loonies might call him! Very, very impressed. True kindness. Now, as for Daniel, is this really about a hurt ankle or just showing us your gorgeous scenery? It's in the 90s here and humid! I initially thought your post was a joke! Snow! What a concept! Hope you feel better soon. You look like you're in a great place to take your time recovering.
Yes the pictures are amazing!! My patrol vehicle air went out now Im driving a 97 pool car that barely has air till mines fixed Yesterday at 3pm the heat index was 103* with 90% humidity..
Our two guides: [attachmentid=9683] Water melting off the glacier: [attachmentid=9684] The temps here have been close to 90, but 10 days ago there were 5 feet of snow on the ground. 5 meters total this winter. We were swatting mosquitos and sweating as we slipped on snow! But it was fantastic. My foot was better with some extra padding at the ankle. Some pain but tolerable. No swelling or redness. Zero pain walking in regular shoes back at the chalet. Thanks, David.
Daniel, The scenery is awesome. Reminds me a little of Southeast Alaska with the glaciers and all. Just for the fun of it, I recommend that you soak your foot in a bathtub full of Kim-chee. just jokin
Today the ankle hurt a bit when we started out, but then the pain subsided, and I was okay for the entire hike. It was a great day, not as hot as the past few. And we saw fresh grizzly bear tracks in the snow. Mountain goats are everywhere. The only way in and out is by helicopter, which comes twice a week. Daniel 1) Sorry about the foot I was also going to write (jokingly) to walk it off but I didn't want to upset the good doctor's. 2) First pic reminds me of the Rum commercial and the pic of you and the skyline in the background was great. 3) Put some lotion on that foot please! 4) Hmmmm, the guides, Hmmmm, tough job but someone has to do it. . . 5) Have more FUN! [attachmentid=9757] Daniel, after viewing your hiking pics, I decided to look at some photos from 2002. I believe this one is from Mendenhall glacier. We saw a lot of glaciers on this trip.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ Jul 13 2007, 05:46 PM) </div> Beautiful pictures and nice looking guides to boot (sorry about the pun). Glad to hear all is well with you. It was a pleasure helping. I have always believed we all share the same goals in life - although we may differ in some thoughts and beliefs - we all need to keep focused on the important stuff - like helping each other. I am glad i could be of service. Be well and stay safe my friend. David
[attachmentid=9873] Not too many new pics today. The foot has been tolerable. Some discomfort, but not more than occasional twinges of pain. Yesterday my hip hurt but today it was okay. Today my arm hurt but only a little.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ Jul 18 2007, 04:30 PM) </div> Nice pic! Sorry but is that a string hanging out that little guy's butt there and would that be due to (macro)evolutionary changes or is that just an example of adaptation (micro-evolution)? Wildkow
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wildkow @ Jul 18 2007, 05:13 PM) </div> I took the pic at maximum resolution and maximum zoom 'because the little guy was so far away. I didn't see whatever that was. Could be something in the background. I doubt that the ground squirrels here have evolved a string. Probably a crack in the rock or a bit of grass straw. I'll probably take a day off today 'because I've hiked 7 days in a row. Not sure yet.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wildkow @ Jul 18 2007, 08:13 PM) </div> I think the critter is a "plug in". My thanks to the doctors for their assistance.
