The Ford Motor Company said today that it had hired a top executive at Toyota, James D. Farley, to head its marketing efforts. Mr. Farley is the third high-ranking official to leave Toyota for one of the struggling Detroit automakers in recent months. Chrysler LLC hired Toyota’s top American executive, James E. Press, as its president and vice chairman and the head of marketing for Lexus, Deborah Wahl Meyer, to be its chief marketing officer. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/11/business...ml?ref=business
In the past two weeks, this is the second high ranking Toyota Executive that has left. The first one went to Chrysler, not quite sure why they are starting to bail out.
I can understand why the Toyota executives are being sought. The other option is for one of the "struggling" American car companies is to hire from a "wildly successful" American car company......

Weren't both of these guys non-Asian in origin? Assuming from their names. Perhaps they felt the opposite of what happens when a visible minority works in a North American company that has predominantly white employees. So for the same $$$ (probably more) they are back in their Mostly White Environment. IOW, not to underestimate the power of social communities within a company. Why not just send the guy an email asking him? A guy like that MUST have a Gmail / Hotmail / Yahoo mail account.
