I just bought a new 2008 Prius yesterday and was given the very "hard sell" regarding the Toyota Platinum Car Care Plan. The price was $1875.00 for a 7 year warranty. Is this worth it? Do most Prius owners buy this plan? Thank you folks
Good thing you said no to them see the thread here regarding the Extended warranty and either email or call Troy he'll take good care of you. I unexpectedly traded in my 05 today and got an 08 so I'll be calling Troy myself. again.
do you know if we can use the one on this site anywhere in our area? In other words, is it valid for use anywhere that Toyota services?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(annegodis @ Oct 20 2007, 03:16 PM) </div> It is sold by a Toyota dealer and issued and underwritten by Toyota Financial Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales, USA. When I bring my car in for service, the extended warranty information shows up when the service writer at the dealership runs the VIN for possible recalls and service campaigns. So in a nutshell, the answer is yes.
It's an insurance plan. Like all insurance it makes a profit for the seller, not the buyer. If you can afford to have the cash available for repairs it's cheaper on average not to buy it. If you do want to pay extra for "peace of mind" be very sure that you understand what is and what is not covered. Some people have been unpleasantly surprised.
