OK my wife just got back from Singapore and said that she didn't see one Prius the entire time she was there, almost 3 weeks. Doen't mean there are none just very few and she didn't see them. What's the deal with that? Seems to me on an island only 12x20 miles it's all stop & go driving so the Prius should be very popular. Her brother-in-law said there are a few NatGas vechicles but with only two NatGas stations on either end of the island this is holding further sales back. There are also a few electric cars. Wildkow
Yes, cars in Singapore are expensive. Check the thread quoted above. Standard of living is artificially raised, so many singaporeans work their lives to pay for their home mortgage and car loans. Currently, the Prius costs SGD $88,888. Besides, awareness about hybrids is miserable in Singapore, so Singaporeans tends not to buy hybrids. Gas is expensive here too. Only thing good about Singapore is the low crime rate, and the food is good. Hope your wife had a good time here. madsock
