I thought this was interesting, too: I'm almost surprised hybrid sales don't make up a higher percentage of total car sales, yet.
Probably has to do with availability. A lot of people can't be arsed to wait for a car. They want it now. If it's on the lot, great. If not, they look at something else.
It'll be interesting to see if that changes as the hybrids become more available....are there any parts of the US where there is a waiting list for a Prius anymore? Could that be part of the reason for the increase? The dealer I went to had 15+ of them on the lot. They had 3 in the color I wanted, got my choice of interior colors without having to do a dealer trade.
