CELL based PCI-e video accelerator - XtremeSystems Forums Great concept, this would work wonders for F@H or other projects, if driver support and support from the project was worked out, wont hold breathe though, ATI has just now started to get GPU folding working good under F@H. I run 2 GPU clients and 2 quads right now 3 days a week, and have to say GPU folding is a waste..but it was out of interest that i started using the cards x1950's. One thing that baffles me on this cell board is the wimpy pcie 1x bus(2.5Gbps) Why not 8x or 16 for full transfer, or better yet pcie 2.0? guess we will have to see how this pans out. The market for this card right now is for video encoding and thats about it.
