I am a new Prius Owner! 1 month now. Traded in a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan (~17-20 mpg). Not regretting it 1 iota. Everyone says to me "Why did you buy that?" Simple: My wife said to buy whatever gets the best gas milage out there - since I put 50-70 miles a day on our cars. No Brainer. I wanted White with Fog Lights & A/C - she wanted Green with a cool stereo. Wound up with Silver, Fog Lights, A/C and an MP3 jack. Did I mention she is enamoured with the back up camera? Wonder what the mpg is in reverse? Bet my wife Knows... Going to make my first out of town drive (Austin to Dallas) this week-end. Will get to try out the Nav System and highway milage. I know the car looks good coming and going - but I am not going out on the highway with that *$%^&*! back up beeper sounding constantly...
I have heard much of that too. I am in your area and got a 2008 Touring Package 5 with Leather added.. only 600 miles so far. We really like the vehicle. Post back your experience on the highway to Dallas. Last time I made that trip.. plenty of pot holes to test the suspension.
Congrats on the new car and welcome to PC. Get used to not seeing your favourite gas attendant as often.
Heh.. if the backup beeper is sounding constantly while you're headed down the highway, you're doing something really profoundly wrong, and people will look at you funny. . Welcome, and enjoy the ride! . _H*
From: 359blue Well made it back from Dallas today! Had the car loaded down with 3 adults, luggage and 1 dog. Also ran the A/C full time and used the Cruise Control as much as possible. Relied on the GPS Nav system too, to get there and back - I was a little hesitant at first but... ...absolutely loved it! No more folding maps, atlas's and scribbled directions for me!!!! OH yeah - round trip MPG: 49.3
