I am proud to call attention to the Lamoille County Sheriff Dept. of northern Vermont for bringing three Toyota hybrids on line in the service of the public: a hybrid Camry, a HiHy and a Prius. Note that they ". . . do have lights for (the Prius) ..." Check out the link for the May 15th issue of the News and Citizen: News & Citizen -Lamoille County Newspaper - Vermont Now I don't have to drive all the way to Barre or Burlington for spare parts for my VT HiHy!
I can just see their first episode of COPS. Who cares who their chasing, I want to watch their display to see how their Prius is preforming.
The Prius looks a little like the Zhang Heng. I wonder if photon torpedos make a blue flashing light.
"He said because of its size, this car will probably not be used as a patrol car, but they do have lights for it and Sheriff Marcoux said there are situations where it could get used." Let's write them to ask them to put the lights on, then have them send a picture of a Prius pulling over a Hummer!
'til they siop for gas! I saw a official city or county Prius on the LA Freeway last night and it said "Animal Services" on the door. I wonder what they service in a Prius? They have to be careful not to sneak up and squash them.
As much as I love the Prius getting out there, this story just sucks. The last thing we need is cops making people hate Prius owners even more. For me, I wish cops would stick with Crown Victorias. Their headlights are so distinctive that I can see a cop behind me on the freeway from a mile away.
