I was returning from a short business trip and took the shuttle bus to my car in the outdoor remote parking lot at DFW airport. It was about 3:30pm on a hot Texas afternoon. When I opened the rear door to set my bag in the back seat a large bird flew out from under the back of my car, pooped on the small concrete wall, and sailed out across the lot. It was a very large owl that had apparently taken up residence under my car. He circled the lot for a bit then landed somewhere under the overhead tram support beams. The bus driver circled back around and asked me what flew out from my car. I told him the Prius was so environmentally friendly that owls fly out of the tailpipe. I checked to make sure all owls were out from under the car and headed home.
While the story was definately amusing I bet the owl was under your car trying to catch the mice that are eating your coolant hoses and tank.
It appears as if your car was really trying to 'give a hoot'. Sorry. Couldn't resist. Off topic: Is your's the blue Prius I see in front of the South building sometimes? If so, I'm the silver touring that parks next to you (sometimes).
I park next to the Facilities Building or in the South Bldg parking garage ground level (or sometimes at the DART station in Plano ). There are many more Prius cars in the parking lots these days.
