My wife decided to 'help' me clean my car out, and she used Maguires Plastic cleaner that she picked up at the local auto-super-store-mart. The problem is....it turned the dashboard a foggy white I took some water to it to try and remove the haze and I can't seem to get it to come off. Any pointers? She got some of it on the textured areas (above the steering wheel and on the glove compartments) as well as the smoother plastic directly above the textured plastic. It's the oddest thing...and I can't get the damn stuff off. When I spray it with water and wipe it down it looks like it works..but as soon as the water dries, it fogs up again. I don't want to yell at my wife for helping, I just want to come up with the solution.
might be worth a shot to call any number on the back of the bottle and ask for help? they might know of a way to remove that stubborn film. please note i have used Maguires inside detail cleaning wipes with no adverse problems. i did not want to spray stuff directly and tried the wipes instead.
You might try mixing up dish detergent, like Dawn, in a spray bottle and using a soft brush with the grain of the texturing. Good luck.
I am sold on this product. Protects and gives the dash a dark overtone. Does not feel greasy or "fog" the windows like some dash products. 303 Aerospace Protectant 303 Products - Aerospace Protectant, High Tech Fabric Guard - World's Leading Automotive Care Products
