Hey fellow Prius Chatters, this is my first thread, I hope this isn't a repost. I recently had new tires installed, and was just wondering, how do you guys get rid of tires/oil/batteries/etc. when the time comes? I figure you probably know the most enviro-friendly ways to deal with them. THANKS!
The tire shop takes mine, and then charges me a recovery fee. Your city's recycling center should take them too.
most tire stores will take them also, if you pay the disposal fee. oil - many auto supply stores take used oil for recycling ; batteries too. depends on the law where you are - in texas if you buy a new tire or battery they charge you a fee for disposal of the old one.
Thanks for the ideas guys, recycling center should have been a particularly obvious one! :tape: Oh, Portland, OR of course!!! :hippie:
:welcome: Welcome to PriusChat, MPGallophile! From another Portland (area) driver. Check out the local group.
Congrats on the first post. Local laws usually dictate the ultimate "end" of the process in terms of batteries, tires, and waste oils. You mean "New Portland"..... Right? Wasn't Portland "West" settled originally by people from Portland, Maine? or is that just an internet rumor.
