Has anyone hated the light tan seats so much that they used seat covers to change to grey or burgandy or some other color (Leather is not an option- thanks anyway)??
Yes. I hated the light tan seats so much that I ordered a silver/burgundy instead of the tideland/tan that I originally wanted. This thread has some suggestions for non-post-moo covers: http://www.priuschat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21
I've seen some red Hawaiian print seat covers at Costco. They will look real nice with the Salsa Red I should be getting RSN. They also come in blue. They claim to fit anything. And I have one friend who has already put Dr Who seat covers on. Yeah, tan sucks. I wish I could have gotten grey. Our current cars have a blue tweed which hides EVERYTHING. Useful since we are all klutzes. Lisa
I always thought that the custom ordered sheepskin covers were a nifty idea. You can order them custom fitted to the Prius, seats front and rear, matched to the side air bag requirements, headrest matching covers, avaliable in several colours. Oh, here tis the link: http://www.sheepskin.com/
I'm okay with the tan. I've heard lotsa stories about how easily they can get dirty but so far so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I spilled yogurt on mine yesterday - blueberry, no less - and it wiped right up without a stain. Of course, I had ScotchGuard-ed the heck out of my car when I first got it but I still was impressed. I will probably put some kind of cover on the console, though. That seems like it'll get the worst abuse.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(kkister1492\";p=\"68587)</div> How did you do this? Did you buy a can of Scotch Guard and spray everything? I would consider doing something to add protection but would be concerned about spray splatter or something like that. Then again, I've read more than a few posts indicating that the fabric of the seats are resiliant and stain resistant as they are. As such, they don't need extra protection.
Sure, I just sprayed it on. No problem with overspray. I had no idea how good of a fabric protection was already on and wanted a little added insurance. Can't be too careful with light fabrics when the driver has a history of being a little bit of a klutz.
I too spayed schotchguard all over the interior when i got my prius. So far interior holding up very good. Love that scothguard
To re-iterate- If you had it to do over again, would you still get tan seats or change the color of your car so you could get gray seats?
I wouldn't mind tan again since it's not really tan. It's quite a bit lighter and it's a nice contrast to the black dashboard. It would've been nice if Toyota could offer the dark grey interior on the German Prius.
I don't really have a problem with the tan - though it freaked me out at first. I think grey would be boring now. But I might have chosen it anyway given the option.
