Really bad timing for its debut... when gas hit the magic $4.00 mark. Seriously I don't see many new Tundras on the road.. it's a nice truck but too bad...
I just took a road trip from California to Colorado and back... with stop in vegas... I see the new Tundra Everywhere! people love them...
Good, who needs it anyway? Let's hope the executives responsible for the Tundra are told "don't let the door knob hit your nice person on the way out"
I got tired of all the advertisements on TV for it. Heck, Even on the radio it was advertised until a month ago. In reality it's not the great of a truck. It has low fuel mileage ratings and quite a few issues with it. It don't even come with a rear locking differential.
It's the same as any other large pickup. As far as "issues" it can't be any worse than the POS 2000 GMC Sierra I used to have By "locking" rear end, do you mean the Eaton G80? They're ok as long as they work, mine acted up early and the dealer did s*** about it. I finally had to add a couple of tubes of LSD additive to get those damn clutch plates to work again My idea of a "locking" rear end is one you engage manually, like the one on my FJ, or a simple one like a Detroit Locker that is always engaged I put a PowerTrax LockRite on my Ford work truck at my hobby farm. A very simple install and durable. Of course, make a tight turn and it goes clack-clack-clack but I can live with that
