I will soon be the owner of a Black Touring Pkg 6 '09 Prius. I ordered it yesterday. It will have bisque interior. Does anyone know if I can get the Toyota emblem, which sits on front of hood, in gold instead of the chrome? I think it will match better with the bisque interior.
Hi Louise, I have seen Gold emblems in the Maryland/Washington DC area on two different Pri, but I don't know if they were custom plated or not. They really looked sharp. However, both cars did not bother to gold plate the Hybrid emblems (left silver with blue stripe) plated which looked a bit odd.
this is commonly one of those overpriced packages the dealer will push on you the downside of this is i have no idea how to remove the front and rear toyota emblems, they are bolted on but all the other emblems are easily removable. you can probably shop around on the internet to find someone to electroplate your emblems. going rate seems to be $30-40. i bet you can find someone you can mail your emblems to or find someone that is willing to come to you.
