Since the demand for new Prius's has caused a waiting list, (and so I would expect then very good resale value) I have toyed with the idea of selling my 20,000 mi. 2007 #5 and having myself put on the wait list for a new one. I could do without my prius if the trade were close. I have had a hard time trying to research the current market value of my present Prius and prices for new ones. Does this sound crazy?
I don't know what the exact deal was, but at my dealer, two different people traded in a 2007 and 2006 on new Prii. Talk to your dealer, as used ones are selling for pretty close to what new are. sometimes more! Another dealer inb my area was asking $28,999 for a 06 with 25,000 miles..........more than I paid for my new one. Real advantage I guess would be longer warrantee coverage.
